Almond Milk

Serving Size:
2-3
Time:
10 min (excluding soaking time)
Difficulty:
Very Easy

Ingredients

  • ½ cup almonds (soaked for 6-8 hours or overnight)
  • 2 cups water (plus extra for soaking)
  • 1-2 dates or 1 tbsp jaggery (optional, for sweetness)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Soak the Almonds
Soak almonds in water for at least 6-8 hours or overnight. This softens them and makes blending easier.
Drain the water and peel the almonds (optional, but gives a smoother texture).
  2. Blend the Almonds
Add the soaked almonds to a blender along with 2 cups of fresh water.
Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Strain the Milk
Using a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer, strain the blended mixture to separate the almond pulp.
Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
  4. Enhance the Flavor (Optional)
Add dates or jaggery for sweetness, a pinch of salt, and vanilla extract. Blend again for a few seconds.
  5. Storage & Usage
Store the almond milk in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Use it as a dairy-free alternative in smoothies, tea, coffee, or cooking!
