What is a lacto-fermented pickle?
Before oil and vinegar became standard, many Indian pickles were preserved simply with salt, spices and time. Vegetables and fruits are packed with salt and left to ferment slowly, which gives them a naturally tangy, deep flavour. Our pickles are made this way, with no oil and no vinegar. That makes them lighter than most shop-bought pickles, and a little goes a long way with rice, rotis or curd rice.
Our pickles
- Lacto-Fermented Lemon Pickle: the classic, sharp and tangy. Also in a 1kg pack.
- Ginger Lemon Pickle: lemon with the warmth of fresh ginger.
- Mixed Vegetable Pickle: a crunchy medley of seasonal vegetables.
- Oil-Free Mango Pickle: the season's favourite, without the oil.
Frequently asked questions
How is it different from regular pickle?
Most pickles are preserved in oil or vinegar. Ours rely on salt and natural fermentation, so there is no oil at all, and the flavour comes from the fruit, vegetables and spices.
How should I store it once opened?
Always use a clean, dry spoon, keep the lid tightly closed, and refrigerate after opening to keep the flavour at its best.
Can I return an opened pickle?
Pickles are perishable, so they can't be returned once opened. If a jar reaches you damaged or incorrect, we will replace it. See our refund policy.
Complete the meal with heirloom rice and sprouted flours for soft rotis.
